Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using GePaid. By using our platform, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GePaid ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the Platform. These Terms apply to all users including individuals, businesses, and any other entity.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use GePaid. By registering, you confirm that you are of legal age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. GePaid reserves the right to request proof of identity at any time. Accounts created with false information may be suspended without notice.

3. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account. Immediately notify GePaid at security@gepaid.name.ng if you suspect unauthorized access. GePaid will not be liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account due to your failure to safeguard your credentials.

4. Wallet & Payments

Your GePaid wallet holds funds you have deposited for use on the Platform. Deposits are processed manually and credited within 30 minutes of verification. GePaid does not provide bank-like services and is not a deposit-taking institution. Wallets are non-interest-bearing. GePaid reserves the right to place holds on wallets under investigation for fraud or policy violations.

5. Transactions & Refunds

All transactions are processed in real time. Once a service is delivered (e.g., airtime, electricity token), it cannot be reversed. Failed transactions are automatically refunded to your wallet within minutes. You must report disputed transactions within 48 hours. GePaid will investigate all disputes in good faith but cannot guarantee refunds for human errors such as wrong phone numbers.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for money laundering or any illegal activity; (b) attempt to defraud GePaid or other users; (c) use automation tools or bots without written permission; (d) share your account with third parties for commercial gain; (e) reverse-engineer or attempt to hack the Platform; (f) violate any applicable local, national, or international law.

7. Pricing & Fees

Prices displayed on the Platform are final and inclusive of all applicable service fees. GePaid may adjust pricing at any time without prior notice. Promotional rates are valid only for the stated period. GePaid is not responsible for price changes between the time you view and confirm a transaction.

8. Availability & Downtime

GePaid strives for 99.9% uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. GePaid is not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions, third-party provider failures, or force majeure events.

9. Termination

GePaid may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, suspicious activity, or at our discretion with reasonable notice. Upon termination, any remaining wallet balance (after fees) may be returned to you via bank transfer upon request. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GePaid shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to GePaid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.

12. Changes to Terms

GePaid reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 7 days in advance. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
