We collect the following categories of information when you use GePaid: • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, country, and password (stored as a secure hash). • Transaction Data: Purchase history, amounts, recipients, timestamps, and order references. • Payment Information: Bank transfer details you submit for deposit verification (we do not store card numbers). • Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited — collected automatically for security and analytics. • Communications: Messages you send to our support team.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: • Create and manage your account • Process transactions and verify deposits • Send email notifications (verification, receipts, alerts) • Detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized access • Improve our products and customer experience • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share your information with: • Service Providers: Third-party providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g., email delivery, cloud hosting) under strict confidentiality agreements. • Financial Partners: Payment processors and telecom APIs needed to fulfill your transactions — limited to what is necessary. • Law Enforcement: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred with appropriate safeguards.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active plus 7 years, in compliance with Nigerian financial regulations. Transaction records are kept for a minimum of 5 years. You may request deletion of non-regulated data by contacting privacy@gepaid.name.ng.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, bcrypt password hashing, and regular security audits. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable any available security features.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements) • Object to or restrict certain processing • Receive your data in a portable format To exercise these rights, email privacy@gepaid.name.ng with your registered email and the specific request.
7. Cookies
GePaid uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication (keeping you logged in), security (CSRF protection), and analytics (understanding how users navigate the Platform). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in.
8. Children's Privacy
GePaid is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will immediately delete the account and all associated data.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Platform may contain links to external websites. GePaid is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before they take effect. Your continued use of GePaid after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
